Instruction & Technology Assistant

About Me

I am originally from Southern California (Downey to be exact). I came to San Francisco for undergrad and completed my Bachelor's in History with an emphasis in Latin American studies. I was a first-generation student, so I hope to help first year and first-generation students with college success. I have my Master's in Library and Information Science from San José State University.

I currently serve as the Instruction and Technology Library Assistant for the Instruction and Outreach Department. I started as a Library Assistant for Gleeson Library | Geschke Center in 2017. Previously, I worked at Gleeson as a Student Assistant for the Reference Department during my undergrad. After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked at the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley before returning to work at Gleeson in Access Services and later, the Reference Department.

My interests include hiking, trying new restaurants, and plants! During my undergraduate career my research focused on highlighting marginalized historical actors and the construction of identity. My professional interests include increasing BIPOC representation in libraries and working with students from historically marginalized backgrounds.
